roman shoe

my twin and i walked around chicago all day saturday. one of our favorite stops was an italian shoe outlet—just a dinky little place with no style or decor—sort of warehousy. but the shoes? they were fabulous! some of the most unique and beautiful shoes i've ever seen. those italians sure know their shoes! they were all quite expensive for my budget, but really quite inexpensive in comparison to the original price.

this is just one of the shoes that stood out and begged to have it's picture taken. a gold sandal with a scrolled heel. i don't know if i'd wear these or put them on a shelf as display—or both.

the first picture was taken with my sister's nikon. the second one with mine so that i could use my nifty macro feature and capture the reflection of the heel in the metal shelf. see the difference in our cameras? i'm really wanting her camera these days.

I have just sent to this link to my father in law. He is brilliant with wood work... I think this might just prove to be his next challenge : )

This shoe is magnificent!

Wish I could have spent time in Lovely with you.

That shoe is wonderful, I've never seen anything like it. Nice pictures G.

I have a good friend who's an engineer, and I would feel better if he were to sign off before you tried walking in them! I've never been to Chicago but my brothers been there a few times on business and he was very impressed with the city. Coincidentally he's my twin.

Your sisters camera sounds nice. You made me laugh in an earlier post when you compared hers to a Lexus and yours Civic, how telling of the troubles in the North America auto industry! Oh well I drive a Toyota, shame on us. :)

:) those are some super shoes - but, I would feel like a country mouse in them as they are way to fabulous for my little corner of the world. See, I like your shot with the Civic more than the Lexus shot. *teasing* The details of the shoe are really lovely.

it's okay, Char—even if you weren't teasing, i took them both and i know my sis's camera is better, so i wouldn't be offended if you meant it. :)

your comparison is not apples with apples. you should have taken the same shot with each camera. that second shot taken with her camera might look the same!

Yep I have a twinzy, we are not identical. We don't share the same genetics and we look very different from one another. That aside, you can't get any closer to a person then being wombmates!

that was my dad's joke all the time about my sis and me when he was alive—wombmates. too funny!

That is the most divine shoe I have seen in years! Way too good to wear, I'd definitely make it into a display shoe only :D
