smiling at the thought of you

smiling at the thought of you—
like smiling at the thought of blue—
blue of sky on clear fall days.
it's chasing winter greys away.

beautiful cheery photo
i know you're not so fond of winter right now. i posted this last night:
“No winter lasts forever; no spring skips its turn.” -Hal Borland
I look forward to it.

thanks for the Borland quote. i do like that very much.

i would have posted about spring, as it follows winter. but fall was more fitting, because it is my favorite season and therefore in opposition to winter in that way. and fall has the bluest sky, so a fall picture went better with my poem. :)

but i do look forward to spring.

Oh so beautiful! I'm looking forward to my second Autumn in Sydney, because I LOVE the way the leaves change colour (no deciduous trees where I come from, so it's still a novelty!) I have my own little maple tree in my back yard now too, but it got a little sunburnt this summer so I hope he still has it in him to turn on the red!

Autumn is my one of my favorite seasons in Utah. There is this place called Memory Grove. It is always pretty in the fall.

chasing the winter blues away... your strength lies in the simplicity of your one and two liner poems.
