okay, now i'm done...

here are the last of my hay bale photos.

thanks to everyone who left such nice comments about these. i got lucky. i happened to be riding by this picturesque place, and i knew i had to go back with my camera before the sun went down. it was the perfect time of day to shoot there. and had it been a day sooner or later, the picture-perfect bales might not have been there.

some of you were wondering if this is by my house. it's about twenty minutes from where i live. the city i live in is a good size, but we are surrounded by a lot of farm land, so i know i always have the opportunity for pictures like this. a lot of people say the midwest is boring and not a picturesque as the coastal states or the mountainous areas. but i think it can be quite beautiful around here all year round.

anyway, i promise... no more hay field shots. i took over 100, so this will be the last of them. thanks again for everyone's very kind remarks. i had a lot of fun with these.

{still waiting to hear about my internet. on monday, they told me they would put in a ticket to have it looked into and i would hear by friday. {{funny... that's what they told me the previous monday.}} i guess i'm not at the top of their priority list.}

I never tire of these shots (we, too, live not far from farmland). The golds, the greens, and those glorious hay bale shapes can't be resisted. I also love it when fall colors set in to this kind of landscape. Thanks for sharing!

They're beautiful. I hope I can get some farm shots when I'm back in the midwest in a few weeks. When I was growing up in the midwest and we were driving back to Chicago or Rockford to see my relatives, my father would always get annoyed with me for reading or sleeping in the back seat instead of looking at the fields but I did find them boring back then. He would always say, "Look at these fields. This is the breadbasket of the nation!"

I kissed my first love sitting on a hay bale once upon a time so I kind of have a soft spot for them. I love the shots, in particular, where you captured wild Queen Anne's lace in the foreground. That crisp golden color is like no other. :)

Very cool. I just saw a bunch of hay bales on the way to Savanna this past weekend. I always thought they were kinda eerie, like monuments built by another culture or race.

Wow, 111 followers?! I can't get over that! And I love your new banner :)

These are gorgeous. The sixth one is my favorite! I think everywhere has "scope for the imagination" as Anne Shirley said. :)
