when water becomes art

at first, i wanted to get an image like this...

or this...

{i know, yawwwwwn......., right? }

but then i thought i'd get more up-close and personal, so i started to take these...

i also took some on a cloudy day...

i liked how many of these almost look like abstract paintings {especially the fourth photo from the top }. i've never been more fascinated with icicles... the simple icicles that lined my porch roof. so enticing and interesting when you really stop to look, are they not?

Wow, these are amazing. I even love the first one. The fifth from the end also reminds me of a sculpture. Exciting.

the 5th from the top reminds me of a rib cage ... none of them would make me yawn, though ... glad you really "saw" them ...

AWESOME! Love these. I'm afraid I'm still guilty of just taking the "boring" shots! You inspire me!

Wow, those are cool! (Well, yeah, I know, literally.)

Of course, I never see icicles here. In fact, I bet it's been over 12 years since I've seen icicles as that was the last time I was in the midwest in the winter. But I'm not sure I even saw any then.

The 4th from the bottom looks like they are made of sterling silver.

So jealous I can't take pics like these in South Texas :(

The first shot is absolutely gorgeous, but they are all fantastic. I never realized how ribbed an icicle is - fantastic job, Georgia.

I love that the close ups showed the transparency and the complexity of them!! Not just your ordinary ice!!
