yesterday calvin and i spent a quiet sabbath at home doing bible study and listening to music. it was just what i needed. one music video that i listened to was the personal testimony of matthew west, a gospel singer and son writer. his voice was taken away through illness for an extended time and he shared his experience of painful silence and how God used this time to humble him and to speak to him. he too quoted these words. God definitely does speak so clearly in our pain.
These words open unfathomable depths for meditation - and no picture could better suit the mood that we all share. Vivez ce dimanche dans la paix du coeur.

...and whether God whispres or shouts, we should, I believe, be listening, and asking to be listened to

stunning together !
it's funny, but we, too, are more verbal and loud in our prayer life when we are in pain.
