the bright side

i got a ticket on the way to work today... something i can't afford right now, so i was sort of sad all day. but my sister had a first date tonight, and i'm glad about that.

i found out i have to work this weekend, which is good news in light of having to pay the traffic fine. still, it bummed me out 'cause i'm feeling a little burnt out. but we're taking my best friend and her fiance out for dinner towmorrow night to congratulate them on their engagement, so i'm excited about that.

i was disappointed to find out that we are not approved for the financing to get the computer i've been hoping for. but b. is still just as committed to making sure i get one, so it's still gonna happen somehow, someway... and i'm hopeful for that.

i've been hurting for the people who are suffering in haiti. but there has been so much outpouring of support and financial aid in their time of need, and i am encouraged by that.

there are many things in life -- large and small -- that leave us sad or tired or disappointed or hurting. thankfully, there are just as many good things -- small or monumental -- to make us glad, excited, hopeful and encouraged.

what are the bright spots in your day or life right now?

Sorry about your ticket...that does suck! And I am glad that a way will be made for you to get your computer.

My brightest spot right now is that it's the weekend. My work week sucked for a few reasons but I'm glad I have a job I can whine about.

I like the photo!

My bright spot is my hubby who's supporting me in hard times (at work) right now and the boys who make me smile every single day again and again (even after arguments with my oldest one..he's really getting into a teenager with all it's fun and bad moments).

I wish you the best my friend. Stay tunned and focused on the YOU inside. There is were you can find peace and calm Georgia. Time will get better.

I love the up and down theme to this post. A reminder that even though "stuff" happens, there's a bright spot somewhere, as well. Good balance you're striking today!

Let's see - today I am inspired to write and get caught up on things I can't do at home when I'm faced with "life." I'm hiding in a hotel room in St. Charles while my husband is in a refresher course at DuPage. It's fabulous! Just thought - too bad we didn't plan this weekend better! I'd hop on the train and meet you!
