conversation with a tree

i stood beneath a tree today.

it had a talk with me.

it said, " 'tis my Maker that made you.

just as your Maker made me.

look—here am i, safe and standing tall...

i made it through the cold, you see.

here i bloom, in spite of bitter months.

no... winter can't and won't destroy me."

So very beautiful! I don't think I truly understood the excitement about Spring or Fall before I lived in a climate that had deciduous trees! Don't get me wrong, evergreens are lovely! But the changing of leaves, their eventual fall, and then their triumphant return...there's nothing quite like it.

What a lovely pairing of prose and photos, G! Thank you for your uplifting message. I want you to know that your work (blog, craft, and otherwise) inspires hope and creativity in me. Oh, and I hope you don't mind that I set the sixth photo as my wallpaper. I love images of tree branches against a blue sky, in any season!
Hugs and happy Easter!

Yes ! We shall overcome !
All the "winters" we go through in our lives won't destroy our faith.
You had a beautiful dialogue with this little Tree of Life today - the sort St Francis would have had on his way to his hermitage, maybe...

I think with all the complaining I did this winter, the tree outside my office window just said the same thing to me and added in a little..."quit your whining !!"

I loved your conversation with the tree. I've been looking up at these spring buds myself and wondering. Your post spoke to me.
