variations on a moon

i took these all on the same night within the space of ten or fifteen minutes. i was nearing home when i saw the low and full, bright and wondrous moon in an almost dark evening sky, so i stopped to lasso it with my camera.

nos. 9 and 13 {after the collage} are my absolute favorites.

{still no answers despite calls to my internet company and a hopefully prospective employer. still waiting. still hoping.}

these are gorgeous pictures!
this time last month, I was by the red sea, and it was a perfectly full moon...and the stars were glamorous and the sea glittering..

it was divine.

I love moon shots! Very pretty!

What a drag that you are in waiting mode. Waiting sucks.

I was outside at 10pm the other night clicking photos of the moon and the flash of the camera brought our neighbor outside to see what I was up to now. She's caught me on the roof with my camera before, I should add. I suspect I am the neighborhood wierdo.
With that, #'s 6, 20, 23, and 26 are my favorites in this series. I especially like #26 because of the leaves before the moon. Perfect for a night of jazz and lying on the rooftop to look at the stars.
Keep wishing and hoping. Good things come your way. I know it! :)

Beautiful!! I have a hard time getting a photo of the moon that I feel matches the beauty of what I actually see. I love the mosaic - great idea. All sparkly!

The mosaic is striking!

Waiting is so hard. I'm quite terrible at it. I was thinking how prolific and creative you've been in the last few days -- perhaps a good coping skill for impatience:)

thanks everyone!

heather #1, thank you for taking the time to point out which ones were your favorite, too.

heather #2, what a thoughtful thing to say. i would hope that waiting causes me to do something creative and not to complain. so for you to say this, was very kind indeed. thank you.

Beautiful series of photos. I love the ones with something else in it, for added depth. Like the tree. Or one of my favorites, the street light. I also think it's fabulous to choose a subject and really work it, finding a myriad of ways to express how you feel about something, or how you see it. Well done!

Oh Georgia, I love the out of focus shots of the moon, it such a beautiful and creative way to show off it's soft and guiding light.

Good luck with the job, I have my fingers crossed for you.

I dragged my camera out the other night when sitting by the firepit with my son. A large full moon rose up halfway behind a cloud and my son beseached me to capture it with my camera :) I did, even though I knew it wouldn't show up as grandly as he was seeing it first hand.
There is just something magical that pulls at you when she shows up in our night sky, isn't there? :)
