the main character in a storybook where apples are pumpkins

this group of photos of my friend's daughter makes me think so much of some vintage storybook illustrations. this is why these are some of my favorite from that day.

she doesn't say many things yet, but she can say apple... and to her sweet and innocent eyes, pumpkins are apples. or that is what she calls them anyway. so cute. she was enthralled by this little apple, the hay and the cart below, and that was fine by me. it meant she'd stay still long enough to get some clear shots. well, most of them are clear anyway. but even the slightly blurry ones are so sweet to me.

she can't read yet... so you can't blame her for climbing and being curious. don't worry. we didn't actually go for a ride. we just used the cart for a prop. no law-breakers here.

and she's off again... to look at the next best thing. apples and carts can only entertain a little one for so long, you know.

What a cute little girl with her cute little bangs and chubby cheeks and adorable tights. Pictures of little girls always makes my heart tug and break a little. :)

Adorable. And yeah, she does look like the character from a children's book :)
