the softness of spring {i'm linking up with kim klassen for texture tuesday}

i know i've not done anything with these photos that is groundbreaking... anything that hasn't been done by so many before {like miss kim} in so many lovely ways. not that my one goal in life is to be groundbreaking. but to be honest, though i adore the way textures look with floral photos {or all photos}, it never really fused into a consistent style for me when it comes to processing my photography. {i think i'm still figuring out my style... or rather, it is still evolving.}

but i simply could not help myself from joining in with texture tuesday this week. you see, the theme is soft, and i can't think of better photos that i recently took than these to go with that theme.

and since i am smitten with one of kim's most recent textures, called "little things", i had to use it for all my photos today.

unlike the trees i photographed for yesterday's post, these gorgeous flowering trees are not right outside my living room window... i only wish they were. i had to take a drive over to the local library and grade school to get these. i went on sunday... a day that was forecasted to be eighty degrees and sunny. but the forecasters could not have been more wrong. if it got up to forty degrees, i would be surprised. and it was anything but sunny.

i actually left the house in a spring windbreaker. i got to the school and took about ten shots, then rushed back to my car to turn around and go home for my long down winter coat. brrrrr! just brrrrr!

oh, well. it couldn't keep me from going back out to get pictures of these incredible trees! six of the white blossoming trees lined the walk up to the school doors... it was like walking around in a fairy tale as the brisk wind continually blew the white petals all about as if it were snowing... giant half-inch velvety soft snow. except for the cold bitter temps, it was a magical world, and i enjoyed every second i had to capture it all with my camera... especially since i learned a couple new things about the settings on my camera while doing it.

last spring, i would not have been able to get these shots... not with the old lens i had. this new lens allows me to get some beautiful soft backgrounds with sharp detail in the petals of the blossoms closest to my lens.

i'm so happy to have it! {the lens, that is.} and with the theme being soft for t.t. this week, i thought these photos would be perfect. i have not done a texture tuesday in a while. it felt like time to get back to it!

these turned out so beautifully. the blossoms are so soft and clear. i especially like how crisp and clear the focus is on the white blossoms, and how the edges are soft and faded.

These are lovely, every one of them. I like you fight the texture thing too at times. But when it works it works so well. These are all so soft and dreamy. Sigh...

Georgia, your images are stunning! I cannot decide which one I love most, they're all so soft and wonderful and perfect for todays prompt. I think the third one down really does it for me, though, as its just soo beautiful and the quote you've chosen to use with it makes it all the more beautiful. What a lovely blog you have. :)

Georgia, your images are amazing and would look wonderful hanging on a wall somewhere. It's funny what we do to get our pictures, but in the end it is worth it.

Ciao Georgia, thanks so much for your visit and comment! :) A Cbox is a tagging and commenting system that lets visitors leave you messages. It's not very popular now, but it was used a lot (with other kinds of tagboards) before pre-set blogging services were born. :)

Hi Georgia,
These are stunningly beautiful! I understand your reluctance to use textures though. It took me a while and I still dont' use them every time.
