if you are creative, create.

create

one of my most creative friends

create {self-portrait}

i have used this blog in the past as a means to send a message when i was hurt. and for that i am truly sorry. it was wrong and i know it. i've not done it often, but when i did, i abused my space that i meant for creativity.

i am sorry for coming close to that line. although these times were meant for me to be expressive and share what was on my heart, i ought to have gone to that person or persons who i wanted to send the message to, instead of putting my thoughts out here.

i truly want this space to be a place of creativity and positivity. i want it to be real. i want to be able to express when i am hurting or confused. but i also want to be careful. i am learning that blogs can be powerful... and dangerous if not used correctly.

my goal for this blog is first and foremost to be a place that allows me to create. after that, i want it to be an encouragement or inspiration to anyone who should stop by. i most certainly hope that i will not hurt anyone or offend anyone here. not because i am good or holier-than-thou. because i am not without fault. i have and will fail. i apologize for that.

i had taken these pictures of my little metal "create" thing-a-ma-bob {that usually sits on my computer } for the january one word project at shutter sisters. but i found them useful for this post.

i hope you are creating today. i hope you are using your creativity for good. i hope i am too.

{thanks to kellie -- one of my uber creative friends -- for being the model in my sepia create picture.}

I believe that creativity comes from emotion. Feeling hurt is an emotion, an emotion that affects creativity. Your posts always get me to think.

Georgia the blog is first and foremost a vehicle which allows us to get to know you!! I love your photos but I also love "hearing" from you. That is how we become friends and if you are hurting about something you should feel free to share. Love your work girl and you too!!

georgia no one judges how you use your blog. life is just that, life. up down, good bad. being creative is a process that wraps our emotions and well being into a thought or object. not to worry. we are still here.

You have to clear out space in your head & heart to nourish that creativity. When I began my blog, I thought I would only discuss art, but as it turns out I almost never discuss art. I talk about my life, my experiences, sad and happy, good and bad, exasperating and calming, all of which influence the art I make. Or don't make.

Create! Wonderful post - I am thinking away right now.

i for one like to read your thoughts and hear your concerns and feel your emotions - it makes you real to me. i appreciate that you feel free to share all this as well as your beautiful photography and design. i'd hate to see you change your approach here.

Georgia, I just recently found your blog and appreciate your honesty in this post...it can be very difficult to hold back, but that's one of the things that I value most with the people that I've come to meet through blogging... acceptance and honesty. We all have bumps in the road, but I very much admire your willingness and desire to forge through it.

Hey Georgia! :) So, you already know how much I love reading & seeing your photos & getting little peaks inside your life. I also understand that it's sometimes hard to find that balance on our blogs. I know I struggle with that at times, too--what I should say or shouldn't say, what I should share and what I should hold back. I know that not just "strangers" read my blog, but friends & family members, too. So, it's like, I have to keep that fine line of watching what I say (or saying it tactfully) or sometimes just not saying anything at all. But then I also want to be real and honest, and not make it seem like my life is totally perfect because I only talk about the happy stuff, haha. So it's just interesting trying to find that balance and I think all bloggers can totally relate. But I love reading! And being able to offer encouragement when I can. :)

Sorry, for the ramble! I love these photos. :) And how you always inspire me to go create even more! :P
