hello, friends.
i'm just getting ready to go off to my fourth meeting with my counselor/mentor. i can honestly say, before every meeting, i've been reluctant to... some more than others. it's just not something i'm used to. i tend to internalize these things that have been on my mind... well, i do open up about them a bit here. but it is nothing like i am able to do when i talk to someone who can give me face-to-face, practical advice for living.
anyway, the first three times i went, i came home feeling refreshed and really quite okay. not to say my thoughts never took a downward turn somewhere throughout the week after each meeting. but less and less every time. so though i do not want to go again tonight, i know i will be so glad i did when we are done.
i wonder how many other things are like that in our lives? things we don't do, because we feel it would be an inconvenience or take too much of our day... but if we had done or would do, we'd be better for. reinvigorated. revitalized.
and speaking of the last two words in the last paragraph {as well as the word on my photo }... i have always loved many words that begin with "re". probably my favorite is redeem. it is because redemption is one of my favorite things in life... to witness. to watch. to know. i am drawn to films and stories whose themes revolve around redemption.
but i also love so many other words that start with this second chance of a prefix. add it to any word, and it spells s.e.c.o.n.d. c.h.a.n.c.e. how amazing is that?
i love second chances.
so i started this little series called re ~ word {button to the right }. since i had already done no. one a while back, and then no. two more recently, i thought, "why not keep going?" and i did... keep going.
refresh.
i hear it, and i think of refreshing. cool. new. pick-me-up. thirst-quenching. all good things, no?

This series is so...so...re-invigorating! :)
This is a re-ally great post! Does that count as an "re" word? :)
You're right! There are so very many great ones! All with new beginnings and do-overs!!
Re-purpose
Re-do

I love your thinking...renew...I like that one...everything will renew itself in someway somehow...and as for your word...refreshing...makes me think of limes and water and lemonade and cool swimming pools are baking in the sun xxx
have you been snooping around my website journal pages?!
Re-WARD-ing. That's what this is. I might borrow the idea.
You know what else is a good word? Chocolate. Chocolate's a good word. Also, chocolate-covered. That's nice, too. :) (just trying to make you smile, friend)
I feel refreshed with yoga and meditation, but it takes a lot to finally get me to slow down enough to do it! Great post!
i need to take some time and refresh myself... i am hoping the changing season and warm weather will help with this... beautiful set and idea. i am always soooo inspired in your space!

All good things...yes! I used to work for a company called Second Chance - a private community corrections agency. I worked at their juvenile offender basic training camp that really did give the kids a second chance. I'm all about second chances!! Just thought I'd share. =)
I love your idea for this series, Georgia. Love that font, too, and you've created a beautiful image.
Hi friend - been praying for you. I hope talking with a mentor is refreshing for you. It was for me. Probably saved me, actually. If you know what I mean.
:)
