we are almost a week into may... how are you doing on your goals and dreams?

cafe polaroid
happy thursday! it's very bright and sunny here, and i'm going to soak it all in while it's here, because after today, it is predicted to be cold and rainy for a while. {always just in time for the weekend, no?}

continuing with the fake polaroids for fake 'roid week here, i give you some sepia 'roids.

sepia square {'roid-ish}
so i pulled a bunch of images from the last several months for this group, and it got me thinking... "oh, my goodness! it's already may! in less than two months, the year will be half over. YIKES! how did that happen?"

then i started thinking about all the goals i had set for myself when the new year started. all the dreams i had written down or planted in my thoughts. and i started to do a self-check... am i where i wanted to be by this point? in some ways, yes. i'm almost debt free {still have one last battle to go on that }. i've made some healthy habit changes {but i've fallen off the wagon on those lately }. i'm pursuing some dreams in ways that i was never bold enough to pursue before {but i still need more boldness and confidence there }.

all in all, i think i'm doing okay. but if i were to not stop and check in every once in a while, i could see myself easily slipping on all of these. oh, how i do not want that to happen! i so sincerely do not want 2011 to arrive, and look back and see that i wasted 365 days again! not that any year of my life has ever been a waste. but i know i have not taken full advantage of the years i've been blessed with thus far.

i'm getting to the age where that's just not an option anymore. i want to live life to the fullest and seize every opportunity that comes my way! i want to grow. to learn. to achieve things i thought i could not. to use my time, talents, resources and blessings wisely.

tree 'roid
i think we should check-in every month, at least... don't you? what about you? how are you doing so far this year? i'd love to hear... especially if you have some tips about how you keep it fresh and alive... how you keep the goals and dreams from slipping away unnoticeably.

do share! and even if you don't, have a happy thursday! i hope you enjoyed the "roids".

Debt-free, or almost would be nice. As a self employed person, I need to finance some jobs in advance...Debt-free or almost would be a blessing from heaven. Clients that paid in a reasonable length of time would also be a blessing. But it's part of being who I am.
Love today's photos they are relaxing, and I needed just that today.

Loving your "roid" pics! They are so beautiful!
I am doing pretty well on my goals. I could be a little further on the self-promotion but all in all, not bad.

LOVE that shoe kickin' it in the cafe! :) You are having a good year - very impressive! Me? Getting through it - I knew something was going to happen that woul break my heart and I have survived. That is a biggie. I have been getting my writing out there, with more to come, but mostly I wanted to hold this year close. Doing just that.

I can relate to this post... it is frustrating, sometimes as the goals I set often have solutions which evade me... I'm trying so hard to figure out the formula required to make them happen, and when I fail, the stress and 'down' feelings are so high. But yes, my gosh, here we are... May! Gotta get a move on!

I LOVE this, well first off I love the photos. They are such great fake polaroids!! Such a great job with the editing. :D My favorites are the one in the cafe and the tree. So pretty. And...well this is the first year I think that I've made a conscious effort to make goals and stick with them. It's been a challenge, but a rewarding one! I've worked on changing my eating habits, redecorating my home, working out. There are still areas that I am lacking (I haven't even finished reading one book yet!) but I am really determined to square my shoulders and press forward. It's not easy...sometimes it's easier to just coast through life without really participating, but it's much more rewarding to get involved and get your hands dirty! But for me it involves completely changing the way I look at life, completely reworking my programming, and it's hard. But worth it! I'm hoping to get to the end of this year and feel like it has been my most productive year yet. :D

Oh, I know this feeling so well, and let me tell you, it seems to keep going faster as you get older. I am good at having goals in my head, but not very good about tracking them on paper.
But you are not wasting anything, your talent shines through...
love these photos, love your reminder to pay attention to May before it slips through our fingers...

Totally feel ya about not wanting to squander time. I'm in that same head space. But it's hard to be consistent sometimes....

Also, I love what you're doing with the fakey polaroids. Very cool. As far as doing check in's -- you're on to a great idea. Wouldn't it be fun to start a group where we all check in with each other once a month like you said, and set goals for the next month, too?

Happy Thursday-almost-Friday-Yay!

Firstly, wow. like the other comments, that cafe shoe pic is oh oh oh so dreamy. I love it. and what is that flower in the top left? I want to run those petals all over my face!! love it.
Oh the monthly check in. ahhhhhh I thought by doing a 365 project I'd be more on top of the passing of time, but alas I am not. On May first I named my photo April 31. I am in denial I think.

I have a life list - therefore I feel held accountable to notching ticks off of it and time passing.
