a birthday wish for my favorite twin sister

remember this day? it was the last time we saw each other in person. i won't forget, because you came bearing a gift for isaac {and fresh fruit for me}. he loves that tractor! now it's his turn to give you your gift. so let's get together very soon. i wish it was today on our actual birthday.

but then again, waiting until later is like drawing it out. so, maybe it's just as well... we'll sip on hot apple cider with whipped cream and scour the city for the best vintage shops in town with our favorite autumn boots and scarves on... and maybe even a hat.

today, it will just be me, mr. b. and isaac... nothing fancy... something simple... brunch at my favorite pancake restaurant. maybe a visit to the new antique mall in town. i'll be thinking of you all day long. and i'm hoping to finally remember to call you at 3:21 pm to wish you a happy 41st... even though i will have already called you in the morning to say so. i forget every year, but perhaps if you call me at 3:16 pm when i was born, it will remind me to call you right back.

not many people get to share their birthday with another family member or friend. i feel blessed that i do... especially since we always find a way to celebrate it in style.
